Eat fiber to lower Cholesterol - September 26th, 2009
high cholesterol is when you have a plaque build up in your arteries that causes your heart to have to work harder to pump the blood your body needs and then after a while your heart just gives up and you die. This is the kicker though it totally is preventable and if you find yourself in this situation you can totally reverse it before it gets too bad.
The best way to help you get your life back and lengthen your life all you have to do is eat better and start exercising. I know this may not be the most appealing thing to tell you, that your going to have to go on a pretty strict diet but the truth is this diet will save your life and make your life longer so it really is worth it all you have to do is cut out salt and unhealthy fats out of your diet and all you have to do is add more fruit and vegetables to help you with fiber which really helps you lower your cholesterol too. So add a few more fibers to your diet and take out salt and bad fats and you will find yourself in a lot better situation.
Controlling Cholesterol - September 25th, 2009
There are so many new ways to help you cut down your cholesterol but the real truth is we need to just be healthier I was watching the news ans they were talking about kids in high school sports having heart attacks that totally blew me away we are supposed to be the healthiest we are going to be in our younger years and these kids are so unhealthy they are having heart attacks on the fields before they even graduate.
Most of the kids they talked about are kids playing football because they want to be so big that instead of building good muscle and being healthy they are just eating crap and building fat instead of being healthy and that is not good for these kids at all they are killing themselves before they even graduate high school we have a responsibility as a parents and as a nation to teach these kids the right way to add bulk to their bodies and we need to live what we preach and eat healthier ourselves instead of always looking for a pill to stop our aches and pains this is not the way to teach our kids to be healthy and happy.
cholesterol - September 20th, 2009
If you don’t know what your cholesterol number is you may be living in a life of fantasy because you may thing your ok and you may not be. There is no way to tell what your body is doing inside and you don’t have to be really overweight to have high cholesterol. I am only 37 years old and I am 5’ 7” and I weigh 153 pounds so I thought ok I have a few pounds of fat to lose but I never thought I would have a problem with my cholesterol and be in danger of having a heart attack.
I just thought I was a little overweight and needed to exercise a little more to lose the weight I wanted to and I would be fine but that was not what happened I had to go in to the doctor for something and my doctor decided to check my cholesterol and it was way high I guess all those fried foods and things just caught up with me and I had to quit. I had to go on a very restrictive diet and I had to go on a cholesterol lowering pill to help me lower my cholesterol. If you want more information you can go to www.americanheart.org

We all know by now that to really change your cholesterol levels you have to get up and move and change your diet but the truth is you really have to do what is best for you. You know your body and you downfalls and if you go by what other people are telling you to do you will never be able to stay on your diet and stick to your exercising plan. Diet & Exercise To Lower Cholesterol - September 13th, 2009
If you are serious about losing the bad LDL levels and raising the good cholesterol in your heart and body than you really only need one tip and that is you’re going to have eat right and exercise. You can take a medication that your doctor gives you but if you keep putting all that crap back into your system you are never going to break the cycle and you will be stuck taking medication until you die. When we get older we already will have to take so much medication that it will just be one more pill you will have to take in order to not die of a heart attack.
Why not save yourself the trouble and get up and get moving and eat what your body needs to help it be healthy rather than all the bad things for it the you’re giving it now. The cycle has to end sometime let’s make it today before you have to have a bypass surgery because you didn’t do it earlier. This problem is reversible and you can do it all you have to do is commit and stick to it best you can and you will be better off for it in the long run.
Preventing High Cholesterol - September 12th, 2009
My grandma just had to have a triple bypass heart surgery this last spring and let me tell you once I say her and saw what she had to go through it made me totally rethink what I was eating and that I needed to start exercising. I had to take care of my grandma after her surgery and let me tell you she was pretty active before she had her surgery and when she came out it was like someone had sucked the life out of her. She had nothing in her at all for the longest time.
It took me so long before she could even use the bathroom again by herself that was when it really hit me. I do not want to end up like this if I don’t have to. I needed to start eating right and skip all those fried and calorie loaded things. I needed to start working out regularly and getting my heart into shape so I don’t have to go through what she went through. It took her a good 7 – 8 months before she even started to recover and start feeling good if I can avoid that I am going to no matter what.
Oatmeal For High Cholesterol - September 11th, 2009
There are many foods you can eat that will help you lower your bad cholesterol level or your LDL levels. We all know about the cereal that can help but let me tell you about one I found. You can eat oatmeal and this will also help you with all your cholesterol problems too. I decided to try this because I am not a big fan of cereal and so I decided to ear oatmeal instead of the cereal and see if it will work. So I went out to the grocery store and stalked up on oatmeal and began my new diet.
My favorite was the cinnamon roll oatmeal. It is so yummy and it really tatstes like a cinnamon roll except the icing of course but it is really good. Another one of my favorites is the maple and brown sugar but I also top it with blueberries fresh from my garden which also helps lower my cholesterol. It makes it really fresh tasting and yummy. And let me tell you it really worked I went and saw my doctor after having been on the oatmeal diet for a while and I really did lower by bad cholesterol by 3 points it was so fun to see the number drop.
Cholesterol the silent killer - September 1st, 2009
Cholesterol is one of those killers that is 100% preventable. There is no excuse for anyone to die from cholesterol. If you are close to that point or have been told you have high levels of LDL you have to turn your life around now. There are many drugs that will help you lower your LDL levels and help you get back into the normal range but if you don’t change the lifestyle why take those drugs. It is a total waste of time and money to take any of these drugs without changing the way you live.
It is as simple as getting off the couch and moving every day. The more the better and the better you will feel. Don’t go for the cheeseburgers go for a grilled chicken salad and fruit. It can only be as hard as you’re willing to make it. If you’ve got yourself convinced that you can’t do it you might as well buy the coffin now. You can do this millions of Americans have been where you are and changed it around you can to. Your family will thank you when you are around to be at your grandkids weddings just think of that each time you want to slip up.
Signs Of Cholesterol - September 1st, 2009
Cholesterol is a sneaky thing. Many times, people don’t know they’re dealing with high cholesterol until they experience a heart attack. I know several people who never dreamed they would have to deal with high cholesterol until they went in for a check up on a normal day. The news always comes as a surprise (or not for those who face hereditary traits).
Unfortunately, it’s almost impossible to detect symptoms of high cholesterol. You don’t face any pains or inconveniences – only the inconvenience of having to drive over to the hospital for a check up. But there are some measures you can take. Take a look at your lifestyle and what you eat. If this list starts to bring out a lot of ‘yes’s, you may want to go in for a check up.
- Do you eat out at restaurants or fast food chains?
- Do you eat a lot of cheese, cream cheese, or whole milk?
- Do you smoke?
- Do you not get enough exercise?
- Are you overweight?
- Do you eat a lot of fatty meat (ribs, fatty steaks, you know what i’m talking about meat lovers!)
- Have you checked your cholesterol levels recently?
Take preventive measures before it’s too late. Nothing can stop a heart attack, so attack it before it gets you.
